ONE TO WATCH is a feature that aims to showcase artists, crafts people and their work.
We're always on the look out for new, fresh artistic talent, work we deem
interesting and innovative and
also as in this case because of their continuous popularity .
This month we hope to re introduce one of our favourite artists, Paul Tucker.
For those of you not already familiar with his work we hope you too become a fan.

DECEMBER 2007
Tell us a little bit about your self...
I spent my formative years in Waterlooville near Portsmouth,
before going to Bath Academy of Art to study Graphic Design,
and from Bath to Walthamstow and unable to leave.
What inspires you?
inspiration comes from the everyday
influences
Who are your heroes?
photographic heroes are Robert Frank, Eugene Atget, Ray Moore and Brian Griffin.
What was the first thing you photographed?
one of first serious photos was of a dramatically lit chess set for my cse in photography.
If you could live anywhere...
If I could live anywhere it would be by the sea
What did you want to be as a child?
I wanted to be a stunt man in a James Bond film, but photography proved slightly less perilous.
Favourite colour?
Black and white
Favourite season?
Autumn
Read any good books lately?
Rediscovered Roald Dahl reading to my son
Favourite film quote?
in practice, the mysteries of the camera demanded little more than ordinary intelligence plus the ability to judge a subject upside down.
What song best describes you?
Rip it up ( and start again) Orange Juice
If you were an animal what would you be?
a bird
What's your chosen media to work with?
film over digital
How would you describe your work?
my work could be described as art of the mundane
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
on a beach, possibly thinking about publishing my next book

Thanks Paul!
